A 140 kWp photovoltaic system was installed on two car shelters in the parking lot of Key West City Hall, designed to withstand hurricanes and winds up to 180 mph (290 km/h). The south-facing panels are tilted at a 20-degree angle to optimize solar energy production. This project is part of the historic Glynn Archer Elementary School’s conversion into the LEED Platinum-certified Key West City Hall. Recognized for its sustainability and innovation, it received the Most Outstanding Project Award in 2018 from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
