Pre-Construction Estimator

Job Description

Bid Administration

  • Prepare and manage subcontractor bid receipt logs
  • Solicit bids and communicate with vendors/subcontractors
  • Assemble and distribute bid packages
  • Track bid deadlines and submit proposals on time
  • Maintain organized electronic records and bid tracking sheets

Scope & Trade Knowledge

  • Review and understand bid documents and specifications
  • Develop RFIs and clarifications for assigned scopes
  • Analyze and level subcontractor bids
  • Identify and select the right subcontractors for each project
  • Minimize exclusions and ensure full scope coverage

Post-Bid & Project Handoff

  • Follow up on submitted bids and budgets with clients and stakeholders
  • Conduct internal handoff meetings with PM teams
  • Assist in subcontractor buyout and scope validation
  • Support PM team with cost breakdowns and trade-specific insights

Client & Business Development

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks
  • Support account managers and regional directors with client meetings
  • Build relationships with clients and subcontractors to generate future opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of estimating or construction project management experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred but not required)
